The Socialization of Sebelas Maret University’s Internationalization

The objective of this study is to describe how the publics perceive the socialization of Sebelas Maret University’s Internationalization by the Public Relations Division of Sebelas Maret University. In this report, a descriptive qualitative method is utilized. The techniques of collecting data is arranged based on observation, interview and library studies. The observation has done by observing the subjects directly. The interviews were conducted by asking some questions to the internal and external publics of Sebelas Maret University. The library studies were carried out by searching some information from books, newspapers and the internet. The data were analyzed to identify the public’s perception about the internationalization and efforts of the Public Relations division of Sebelas Maret University in promoting the university into the world class level. The interview result showed that the publics had many different opinions about the socialization. Most of the publics were covinced that Sebelas Maret University would be successful to obtain the Internationalization recognition. On the other hand, most of the Public Relations Division of each Faculty still adopted programs from the Public Relations Division of Sebelas Maret University; they do not have their own program to socialize them. The public Relations Division of Sebelas Maret University has done many efforts to solve the problems, for example; founding an International Office to promote, recruiting and providing good service to the foreign applicants or foreign students, assigning every program to create International journal regularly and to produce a TV program called "UNS Menyapa" to build a closer communication with the publics.
