Perancangan Alat Ukur Indeks Usabilitas pada Mobile Browser

Mobile browser is an alternative internet using a mobile phone. Some people who have high mobility can use a mobile browser as a tools to obtain information quickly and easily. The emergence of sophisticated mobile phone and operating system support, make it easier for users to add mobile applications on a mobile browser. Nowadays, there are many mobile browsers on the market and each of them have advantages and disadvantages. So, that needs to be made an index usability measurement from mobile browser that can be used as a reference for the users to select the best mobile browser. This research aims to design usability index measuring instruments at 4 mobile browser,i.e Opera Mini, UC Browser, Bolt and Skyfire Browser. The methodology of this study begins by defining the attributes of usability into the dimensions of usability according to ISO 9241-11,i.e Efficiency, Effectiveness and Satisfaction. The assessment that has determined was assisted with the respondents using semi-open and closed questionnaire. Then it is weighted using Entropy method to obtain the interest rate dimension, attributes, and usability criteria for mobile browsers. The next phase is performing a normalization using Objective Matrix (OMAX) scale and ends with the test phase of measuring instruments. This research has resulted usability index measuring instrument consisting of 3 dimensional, 14 attributes, and 28 criteria. In addition, from this study also found that the dimensions of Efficiency is the most important dimension and weighs 0.39, followed by dimension of Satisfaction with weight 0.33 and the last is the dimension of Effectiveness with weight 0.28. The test result has shown that the best usability index according to this research is Bolt Browser with the greatest total index. Keywords: mobile browser, usability index, ISO 9241-11, Entropy, OMAX
