The roles and strategies of tourist information center (TIC) of dinas pariwisata provinsi (disparta) in promoting tourism in Yogyakarta

This final project report is written based on the job training in TIC of DISPARTA Yogyakarta. The job training was held on 1st February until 27th February, 2010. The objectives of this final project report are to explain the roles and strategies of TIC in promoting tourism in Yogyakarta. The result of this report shows that TIC has some roles and strategies in promoting tourism in Yogyakarta. The roles of TIC in promoting tourism in Yogyakarta , such as giving information to the tourist about tourism in Yogyakarta, serving ticket reservation for the tourists. TIC has several strategies in promoting tourism in Yogyakarta namely by media such as brochures, maps and calendar of events, by directly (face to face) and by tour and travel. Therefore, it is suggested to TIC that TIC should post a big sign to show that the location of TIC, should update their website (www.visitingjogja.com), should repair an air conditioner in its room and should repair “the find it” machine.
