The purpose of this study is to describe: (1) Implementation of learning to write an official letter of KTSP based on class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kebakkramat in Academic Year 2008/2009, (2) obstacles faced by teachers in the implementation of learning to write an official letter of KTSP based on the student in class VIII SMP N 1 Kebakkramat in Academic Year 2008/2009, and (3) The efforts taken by schools to overcome obstacles in the implementation of learning to write am official letter of KTSP Based in class VIII SMP N 1 Kebakkramat in Academic Year 2008/2009. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach. Sources of data in this study consisted of three types, namely: (1) places and events of the implementation of learning to write an official letter of invitation to class VIII Kebakkramat SMP N 1, (2) informants (teachers and students), and (3) documents (syllabus , RPP, and outcome evaluation). Samples taken using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and document analysis. The collected data were analyzed with interactive analysis techniques. Based on the results of this study concluded that: (1) Learning to write an official letter of invitation in the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kebakkramat based Education Unit Level Curriculum (SBC) has been implemented, namely the teacher had to put myself as a facilitator, informator, and moderator for students. The methods used include: lectures, discussions, question and answer, and assignments. The media used were the board, (2) Obstacles that arise in the implementation of learning to write a formal invitation letter is most students do not have the ability to arrange letters of invitation is good, teachers do not yet have a positive attitude about learning to write letters of invitation, attitude and understanding of students' varied , instructional media have not been fulfilled to the maximum, and yet the implementation of the evaluation in detail, and (3) The efforts of teachers to overcome obstacles in learning to write a formal invitation letter is to add hours of lessons and a more intense attention again to the students. Improving teacher competence in classroom management. Teachers apply a more creative learning activities for students, for example using a cooperative approach, using the method of correction peers, and learning activities to demonstrate the model. Teachers are more selective, creative and innovative in determining the material and learning medium. Procurement of structured tasks and assignments independently for evaluation includes aspects of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor and based on standard processes and outcomes.
