English teaching method in SMPN 2 Slogohimo Wonogiri

This final project Report is entitled “English Teaching Method in SMPN 2 Sloogohimo Wonogiri”. 27th 2010 to March 30th 2010.The objectives in this final project are: to find out the method used by Mrs. Sri Lestari in teaching English at SMPN 2 Slogohimo, Wonogiri, to know the reasons of the teacher for to use of the method at SMPN 2 Slogohimo, Wonogiri, to know the problems and to find out the solution to these problems. The writer got the data through interview, observation, and reverence books. The writer used direct method and grammar translation method to solve the problems faced by the students, and the teachers. Some problems which appeared during the English teaching learning activity were related to misunderstanding about English, from the students, motivation and students’ interest. Other problems related to the school itself were facilities and references. To improve the students’ English ability, the teachers motivated them to study harder and attracted them to be more active in the classroom.
