The Process of Teaching Reading for Second Grade Students of SMP Negeri 4 Karanganyar Academic Year 2010/2011

This final project report is arranged by the writer based on the job training in SMP Negeri 4 Karangnyar. The major aims of this final project are to explain the process of teaching reading in the second grade of SMP Negeri 4 Karanganyar, to discuss the problems in teaching reading, and to find out the solution to solve the problems. Generally, the teaching and learning activities are divided in three steps. They are warming up, explaining the material, and evaluation. The writer used communicative approach in teaching reading for the students. In the teaching reading to the students, the writer found several problems that came from the students, the writer as the teacher, the school, and from the parents of the students. The writer also presents the solutions of the problems faced in teaching reading to the students. Based on the discussion, the writer also gives suggestions to increase the English ability of the students.
