Teaching Strategy To Improve Pronunciation Skill To The Fifth Grade Students In Sd Islam Sunan Kalijaga Surakarta

This final project is written based on the writer’s job training activities as an English teacher in SD Islam Sunan Kalijaga Surakarta. The purposes are to know and to understandthe teaching of pronunciation to the fifth grade students of SD Islam Sunan Kalijaga Surakarta, including the problems during English teaching and learning process, and the solution for those problems. During the job training, the writer did some activities, such as: class observation, making lesson plan and sing a song to improve the students’ pronounciation skill. There were some problems during English teaching and learning activities for the fifth grade students in SD Islam Sunan Kalijaga Surakarta. The problems faced by the students were the students’ difficulties inpronouncing the lyrics and pronouncing the stressed words, and also the students’low interest and motivation. The writer also presented the solution to solve those problems, such as: the students should try to memorize English sounds and practice pronouncing the words as often as possible. The teacher also should teach the students how to pronounce the words correctly many times and give a simple explanation about stress words.
