Upaya Meningkatkan Motivasi dan Prestasi Hasil Belajar Siswa dengan Penerapan Pendekatan Pembelajaran Contextual Teaching learning melalui Metode Jigsaw di SMP Negeri 1 Kartasura

This aim of research is to find out (1) the increasing of learning motivation of student in the subject matter Expansion of VII.E 1 Junior High School student at Kartasura in the school year of 2010/2011 by the application of Contextual Teaching Learning with jigsaw’s methode, (2) the increasing of student achievement in the subject matter Expansion of VII.E 1 Junior High School student at Kartasura in the school year of 2010/2011 by the application of Contextual Teaching Learning with jigsaw’s method. This research is a Classroom Action Research that was held in two cycles. The cycles are started by preparation phase and then are continued execution phase that consist of action planning, action, observation, evaluation, and reflection. The research subject is VII.E 1 Junior High School student at Kartasura in the school year of 2010/2011, which is consist of 40 students in the subject matter Expansion. Techniques of collecting data are observation, interview with teacher, test, questionnaire and documentation. Descriptive qualitative technique was used to analyze the data. Based on result of research, it can be concluded that: (1) the application of Contextual Teaching Learning with jigsaw’s method can improve the quality of learning process in the subject matter Expansion of VII.E 1 Junior High School student at Kartasura in the school year of 2010/2011. It can be seen from execution of cycle I and cycle II. At first cycle, the increasing of motivation aspect was 14% to 8% at cycle II and target was 10%, (2) the application of Contextual Teaching Learning with jigsaw’s methode can improve the student achievement in the subject matter Expansion of VII.E 1 Junior High School student at Kartasura in the school year of 2010/2011. It can be seen from execution of cycle I and cycle II. At cycle I, completed learning students were 52,5% to 75% at cycle II. The target of student achievement was 60%. The rate of student’s ability in answering questions increase from 62% at cycle I to 68% at cycle II.
