The purposes of this research are: (1) To determine whether there is a significant impact between the students taught using quantum learning and those who are taught using conventional learning, in the case of “Basic competency atmosphere and its influence on the earth”. (2) To determine what model which is better than between quantum and conventional learning applied to geography lesson on Senior High School students in the case of “Basic competency atmosphere and its influence on the earth”. This research used a quasi experimental research method. The population of the research was all of students class X Senior High School 5 Surakarta, year 2010/2011. The samples were taken by using purposive sampling technique. The selected samples are students class X-8 and X-9. This research employed documentation and observation information as the technique of collecting data. Then, the outcome study of students were collected using multiple choice test. This research utilized t test as the technique of analyzing data. The result of this research are: (1) there is significant impact between the students taught using quantum learning and those who are taught using conventional learning on Geography lesson, in the case “Basic competency atmosphere and its influence on the earth”. The result is in accordance with the decision of the hypothesis test using t test withtcalculate equal to2,108, andttable=1,667(t calculate>ttables). (2) quantumlearningmodelis better thanconventional learningmodelin improving theoutcomeof high school studentslearninggeographyinatmosphericbasic competenceand its influence onlifeon earth. It is shown by the postest result that the mean score of experiment class is higher than the mean score of control class (75,625 > 71,528)seepage69.
