Using inorganic fertilizers continuously on cucumber cultivation can reduce soil quality and production output. This experiment aims to determine the dosage and form of cow manure better so it can be obtained optimum results for cucumbers yield. The experiment was conducted from March to June 2011 in Blancir, Kopeng, Getasan and in the Laboratory of Ecology and Crop Production Management Faculty of Agriculture, Sebelas Maret University Surakarta. It’s using Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 10 levels of single-factor treatments, and were use of cow manure organic fertilizers in powder and/or granular also controling treatment using ponska. The parameters measured were plant’s height, number of female flower, harvest period, frequency of harvesting, number and weight of fruit/ plant, mean fruit weight, diameter of fruit, fruit length, weighs of biomass. The data collected was subjected to ANOVA, using the F test at level 5% and continued with DMRT. The results showed that the cow manure gave a positive response to plant growth but not for yield, inorganic fertilizers used by farmers still showed better results. Key words: cucumber cultivation, cow manure fertilizer, organic agriculture
