Hubungan Body Mass Index Dengan Risiko Kejadian Infertilitas Pada Perempuan

Objective: The purpose of this research is to find out the correlation between Body Mass Index and the incidence of infertility among women. Methode: This research is an observational analytic using cross sectional approach and primary data. Subjects of this research are 57 married women, age from 23 until 36 years old. The subjects have marital period at least a year, have not been using any kind of contraception within a year, have body mass index value at least 18.5, and their husband have normozoospermia. The data was collected by measuring anthropometry to get body mass index value, and by doing structural interview. The data was then analyzed by using chi square test to see the different between fertil women group and the infertil one, and to compare between women have normal and overweight body mass index to effect infertility. Results: The results of chi square test shows an unsignificant correlation (p = 0.683) between age and BMI value. There are also not a significant correlation between age and menstrual cycle (p = 0.538), between BMI value and menstrual cycle (p = 0.873), between menstrual cycle and fertility (p= 0.182), and between BMI value and fertility (p= 0,160). But, age shows a significant correlation with fertility (p = 0,002). Conclusion: There is not correlation between BMI value and infertility. Key words : Body Mass Index, Menstrual Cycle, Infertility
