Hubungan antara kadar hemoglobin dengan tingkat prestasi akademis siswa sekolah dasar

Tujuan Penelitian: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kadar hemoglobin darah siswa sekolah dasar terhadap prestasi belajar. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional yang dilaksanakan pada bulan November 2011 di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Ngoresan No.80, Surakarta. Pengambilan sampel dilaksanakan secara purposive sampling. Subjek adalah siswa sekolah dasar dengan umur 9 – 11 tahun. Subjek diukur kadar hemoglobin darahnya dan diklasifikasikan menjadi anemia dan kadar hemoglobin normal. Prestasi belajar dinilai dari rata-rata nilai yang ada di arsip sekolah. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji analisis chi kuadrat melalui program SPSS 17.0 for Windows. Hasil Penelitian: Penelitian ini melibatkan sebanyak 60 subjek. Terdapat 18 siswa menderita anemia dan 42 siswa memiliki kadar hemoglobin normal. Hubungan antara kadar hemoglobin dengan prestasi akademis siswa menghasilkan nilai signifikansi (p = 0,015). Simpulan Penelitian: Ada hubungan yang bermakna antara kadar hemoglobin siswa dengan prestasi belajar di SDN Ngoresan No.80 Surakarta. Adanya kecenderungan siswa dengan kadar hemoglobin normal menunjukkan prestasi yang baik Objectives: This study aims to know a relationship between haemoglobin concentration of elementary school students with their school achievements. Methods: This study was an analytical observational research using cross sectional approach and had been done in November 2011 in Ngoresan 80 National Elementary School, Surakarta. Samples are taken by using purposive random method. Subjects are elementary students aged between 9 to 11 years old. Subjects‟ haemoglobin concentration are measured and classified to anemia and normal haemoglobin concentration. Academic achievement of the subjects are determined by using mean of students‟ school outcomes obtained from school archieve. Data was analized using chi square test through SPSS 17.0 for Windows. Results : This study involved 60 subjects. There were 18 anemic students and 42 students who had normal haemoglobin concentration. There was a significant relationship between haemoglobin concentration with academic achievement of elementary students (p = 0,015). Conclusion: This study found a significant relationship between haemoglobin concentration with academic achievement of elementary students in Ngoresan 80 National Elementary School. This study shows that students with normal haemoglobin concentration tend to have better academic achievement than those who were anemia.
