The Main Role of Waiter in “Sasono Bujono Restaurant” at Lor In Business Resort and Spa

Tourist attractions must have 4A aspects (Attraction, Accessible, Amenities, and Ancillary). Hotel in the other hand is a part of the amenity or one of the supporting facilities that provide the visitor a place to stay and / or to eat. The restaurant at the hotel is not different from the other restaurants in general, even they might have the same menus, but the restaurants provided by hotels maybe more superior than others. The key is the quality of service performed by hotel’s waiters or waitresses who work in restaurant, or bar as a server. Besides dealing with guests directly on the restaurant, they have other duties such as, polishing silverwares, glasses, Chinese wares, setting up the tables and chairs, and setting up the main buffet. Although waiters and waitresses jobs are the same, but there are jobs that should only be done by waiters, they are, doing room service, checking corridor, clearing up tray jack full of dirty dishes, and attending night shift. A waiter’s job is not an easy job. They must prepare both mentally and physically, because most of their jobs need strength and they always work under pressure. On the other word they are demanded to be able to work carefully, but quickly to minimize guest’s complaint.
