Solutions For Problems In The Efforts To Keep The Existence Of Radyapustaka Museum

This final project report is written based on the job training done at Radyapustaka Museum for a month from April 1 2011 to April 30 2011. The objectives of this project is to identify the problems leading to the decreasing number of visitors which impacts to the existence of Radyapustaka Museum and to provide the solutions to the problems. The writer is interested in observing these subject matters because the writer wants to describe the important roles of Museum to our country, and the writer is concerned with the existence of this precious legacy. The data of this research are taken through observation and library study. Based on the observation done by the writer during the job training in Radyapustaka as a guide, the result of this research shows that the problems which leads to the decreasing number of visitors is divided into two points, external problem and internal problems. The external problem is the museum is not popular in the public. The internal problems are problems coming from inside the museum, in this case it is about the bad quality of the museum, they are less educative staffs, less maintenance of the historical collections, less lighting equipment, less exhibition room, and less facilities. From the analysis and discussion in this project, the writer gives brief suggestions to Radyapustaka. The writer thinks that it is a must for Radyapustaka Museum manager to improve the quality of the museum. By applying the writer’s suggestions, she hopes that Radyapustaka will still exist.
