Media Choices in a Socialization Program of Public Relations Division of Sukoharjo Local Government

This final project report is written based on the job training started on January 9th, 2012 until February 25th, 2012. It was done in Public Relations Division of Sukoharjo Local Government.
The objectives of this final project report are to evaluate the efforts of Public Relations Division of Sukoharjo Local Government and to propose a communication plan in socializing the Transformation of Land and Building Tax in Rural and Urban area as Local Tax program.
Sukoharjo Local Government has programs or policies every year. The transformation of land and building tax in rural and urban area program is the newest program of Sukoharjo Local Government. Based on the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats), the writer found that the division already socialized the program only in two ways of socialization efforts. The socialization ways were through local television (TATV) and local radio (RRI). Based on the observation, interview and analysis, it shows that the efforts do not work optimally to Sukoharjo Public. It is inaccurate in terms of choosing media for the publication.
The writer also proposes a communication plan in the form of media choice based on Bernstain’s Wheel. Hopefully, the new media choice can be used as an alternative way to succeed the program and can be beneficial for the readers.
