The Effectiveness Of Using Youtube Video In Teaching Vocabulary Viewed From Students’ Creativity (An Experimental Study In The Second Grade Of Sd Unggulan Terpadu Bumi Kartini Jepara In The Academic Year Of 2012/2013)

This research is aimed at finding out whether: (1) YouTube video is more effective than pictures media to teach vocabulary to the second grade of SD Unggulan Terpadu Bumi Kartini in the Academic Year of 2012/2013; (2) the students who have high creativity have better vocabulary mastery than those who have low creativity of the second grade of SD Unggulan Terpadu Bumi Kartini in the Academic Year of 2012/013; and (3) there is an interaction between teaching media and creativity to teach vocabulary to the second grade of SD Unggulan Terpadu Bumi Kartini in the Academic Year of 2012/2103. The method which was applied in this research was experimental study. It was conducted at SD Unggulan Terpadu Bumi Kartini in the Academic Year of 2012/2013. The population in this research is second grade students of SD Unggulan Terpadu Bumi Kartini in the Academic Year of 2012/2013. The total number of population is 54 students coming from two classes. The sampling of the research is total sampling. It is because the population is less than 100 students. In other words, the population is the sample. The samples are 2 “Kudus” as the experiment class and 2 “Semarang” as the control class which each consist of 27 students. Each class was divided into two groups (the students who have high and low creativity). The technique of collecting the data, the researcher uses a test and interview to get the data. A test uses for vocabulary test and interview to get the data. In this research, there would be one kind of test. There is vocabulary test. The validity and reliability of vocabulary test is measured to give the accurate result. The data were analyzed by using multifactor analysis of variance ANOVA 2x2 and Tukey test. Based on the result of analysis, there are some research findings that can be taken: (1) YouTube video is more effective than pictures media to teach vocabulary; (2) the students who have high creativity have better vocabulary mastery than those who have a low creativity; and (3) there is an interaction between teaching media and creativity in teaching vocabulary. Based on the result of the research it implies that YouTube video is very effective for teaching vocabulary for the second grade students of SD Unggulan Terpadu Bumi Kartini in the Academic Year of 2012/2013. Therefore it is recommended that: (1) it is better for teachers to apply YouTube video in teaching and learning process; (2) to improve the students’ creativity, YouTube video can be used to teach the students; (3) future the researchers can conduct with different sample a different psychological aspect.
