This final project report is written based on the job training done by the writer in January 2012 at Puro Mangkunegaran, located on Jl. Ronggo warsito, Surakarta. The objectives of this final project report are to explain about job training activity as local guide in Puro Mangkunegaran, to know about rules of local guide in Puro Mangkunegaran, and to discuss about competency of local guide in Puro Mangkunegaran based on observation and questionnaire. The writer focuses this report on the job trainee activity as a local guide in Puro Mangkunegaran and competency of local guide in Puro Mangkunegaran. The benefit of this research is giving a better understanding about competency of local guide, especially in Puro Mangkunegaran, Surakarta. The writer concludes that becoming a local guide is not an easy work. Local guide has to know how to serve tourist to make them enjoyed the tour and satisfied. Local guide has to know all about tourist attraction (Puro Mangkunegaran) and has skill in handling tourists.
