Bacillus Endofit Sebagai Agens Pemacu Pertumbuhan Dan Pengimbas Ketahanan Bibit Kultur Jaringan Terhadap Layu Fusarium Pisang

Fusarium wilt (Fusariumoxysporum f. sp. cubense) is an important disease on bananas. Various efforts have been made such as the use of resistant varieties, but it is still uneffective. Therefore, it is necessary to develop alternative control of the disease. One of the alternative control is using biological agents such as endophytic Bacillus, but the ability of the bacteria as the agent of promoting plant growth and inducing the resistance on banana haven’t been studied yet. This study aimed to evaluate the ability of endophytic Bacillus as agent of promoting plant growth and inducing the resistance of banana seedlings produced by tissue culture. This study used completely randomized design (CRD) with 10 treatment of endophytic Bacillus isolates. The results showed that some isolate of endophytic Bacillus were capable of inhibiting fusarium in vitro, particularly isolates B2 and B9 were the highest potential, Bacillus isolates B1, B4, B5, B7, B9, and B10 were able to induce resistance of the seedlings, and Bacillus isolates B2 was the best in promoting the growth of seedling.
