Perancangan Standar Prosedur Operasi Budidaya Rimpang Temu Lawak Dengan Siklus Pdca (Plan, Do, Check, And Action) Di Klaster Biofarmaka Kabupaten Karanganyar

Karanganyar Biofarmaka Cluster is a high potential cluster to be one of the centers for bio-pharmaceuticals in Indonesia. It contributes 21% of the Karanganyar Gross Regional Domestic Product. Currently, there are ten groups of farmers who are members of Biofarmaka Cluster in Karanganyar. Its main commodities are ginger, turmeric, and curcuma. With the land area size along 270 hectares, covering potential production of 544 tons of ginger, 940 tons of turmeric and 365.7 tons of curcuma annually. Curcuma is one of the biofarmaka plants that most needed by the herbal industry nationwide, and so that this plant has a high market potential. But in terms of quality, curcuma that produced by the cluster have not been able to meet the standards qualification of the raw materials herbal medicine company. Therefore, to ensure the quality of curcuma produced by Karanganyar Biofarmaka Cluster, quality assurance system is needed through applying continuous improvement in curcuma cultivation Continuous improvement is a way to control an ongoing process in order to increase quality. Implementation of continuous improvement conducted in four stages cycle of plan, do, check, and action (PDCA) according to the Deming cycle. PDCA stages start from planning improvements, implementation of improvement plans, inspection of the plan, and corrective action against the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). SOP are designed consisting of all stages of curcuma cultivation. Based on the implementation of continuous improvement, it required follow-up improvements on technique and rhizome storage location. Coordination and consistency are needed to support the implementation of the SOP as a continuous improvement in the product quality assurance, then SOP can run properly.
