Kontribusi IQ (intelligence quotient) dan EQ (emotional quotient) terhadap hasil belajar kognitif biologi siswa kelas X SMA negeri 7 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2011/2012

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara: 1) IQ (Intelligence Quotient) dengan hasil belajar kognitif biologi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. 2) EQ (Emotional Quotient) dengan hasil belajar kognitif biologi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. 3) IQ dan EQ dengan hasil belajar kognitif biologi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional. Populasi adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Sampel diambil dengan teknik simple random sampling dengan jumlah 74 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data hasil belajar kognitif menggunakan metode dokumentasi, sedangkan IQ (Intelligence Quotient) dan EQ (Emotional Quotient) diukur dengan tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik analisis regresi linier dengan SPSS 17. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan: 1) terdapat hubungan antara IQ (Intelligence Quotient) dengan hasil belajar kognitif biologi. 2) terdapat hubungan antara EQ (Emotional Quotient) dengan hasil belajar kognitif biologi. 3) terdapat hubungan antara IQ (Intelligence Quotient) dan EQ (Emotional Quotient) secara bersama-sama terhadap hasil belajar kognitif biologi Hubungan dari ketiga hipotesis tersebut bernilai positif dan signifikan. Selain itu didapatkan hasil sumbangan relatif skor IQ terhadap hasil belajar kognitif biologi sebesar 48,6%, sumbangan relatif skor EQ terhadap hasil belajar kognitif biologi sebesar 51,4%. Sumbangan efektif skor IQ terhadap hasil belajar kognitif biologi sebesar 7,63%, Sumbangan efektif skor EQ terhadap hasil belajar kognitif biologi sebesar 8,07%, sumbangan efektif total skor IQ dan skor EQ sebesar 15,7%. This study was aimed to determine the correlation between: (1) IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and cognitive learning achievement in biology of the first grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in the academic year of 2011/2012; (2) EQ (Emotional Quotient) and cognitive learning achievement in biology of the first grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in the academic year of 2011/2012; (3) IQ (Intelligence Quotient), EQ (Emotional Quotient), and cognitive learning achievement in biology of the first grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in the academic year of 2011/2012. The method used in this study was a correlational study. The population was all of the first grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in the academic year of 2011/2012. The sample was 74 students taken by simple random sampling technique. The instruments in collecting the data were documentation and tests. The documentation was used to collect the data of students’ cognitive learning achievement in biology, while tests were used to collect the data of students’ IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and EQ (Emotional Quotient). The technique which was used to analyze the data was linier regression analysis statistic by using SPSS 17. The results of the study show that (1) there is a correlation between students’ IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and students’ cognitive learning achievement in biology; (2) there is a correlation between students’ EQ (Emotional Quotient) and students’ cognitive learning achievement in biology; (3) there is a correlation between IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and EQ (Emotional Quotient) simultaneously toward cognitive learning achievement of biology. The correlations within the three hypotheses are positive and significant. In addition the results show that the relative contribution of IQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology is 48.6%; the relative contribution of EQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology is 51.4%; the effective contribution of IQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology is 7.63%; the effective contribution of EQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology is 8.07%; the total effective contribution both of IQ and EQ are15.7%
