Perkecambahan biji dan pertumbuhan tanaman johar (cassia siamea lamk.) dengan perendaman air pada variasi suhu dan konsentrasi asam giberelat (GA3)

The characteristic of johar (Cassia siamea Lamk.) seed is orthodox. It causes dormant seed. Johar seed has long germination time, low germination percentage and slow growth. The purposes of this research were to find out the effect of variation temperature water soaking and GA3 exogenously on seed germination and growth of johar. The research was conducted by Completely Randomized Design with combination treatment of water soaking and GA3. Research was done using 12 treatments with 6 replications. Water soaking treatment were hot water and cold water. Concentration levels used for GA3 were 0, 25, 50 and 100 ppm. Germination parameters were measured daily seed germination and germination percentage, while growth parameters were measured plant height, root length, fresh weight, dry weight and shoot:root ratio. Data was analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA). If there was signification Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) 5% test was used. Hot water treatment increased the germination persentage. The treatment combination of hot water and GA3 at 25 ppm was optimal to increase the germination persentage. The treatment combination of hot water and GA3 at 100 ppm was optimal to increase of plant height, fresh weight and dry weight of johar. All treatments did not significantly influenced root length and shoot:root ratio
