The effect of earthquakefor food and beverage service in Sahid Raya Hotel Yogyakarta

ABSTRACS This final report is intended to find out the effect of earthquake for Food and Beverage Service in Sahid Raya Hotel Yogyakarta, where the writer has been done the job training for 3 months. The objectives of this report are to describe the effect of earthquake, the Food and Beverage Service’s problems, and the ways to solve the Food and Beverage Service’s problems. The effects of the earthquake for Food and Beverage service in Sahid Raya Hotel Yogyakarta are the decrease of Food and Beverage service income, the job efficiency, the decrease of events, re-organization of Food and Beverage service crew and unavailable room for Food and Beverage service crew. The Food and Beverage service faces several problems after earthquake, such as, the limited equipment in the Food and Beverage service, the limited staffs, placement of Pasir Putih restaurant and Baron Bar, and the Food and Beverage service sale decrease. The Food and Beverage service takes several ways to solve the problems; such as adding the equipment, recruiting more the part timer and making an innovation for the waiter/ess, re-opening Pasir Putih restaurant and Baron Bar soon after the high rise building renovated and making a new or special menu to attract the guests.
