The change in metacognition of mind, memory, and self management occurs during childhood and the important change in metacognition occurs during adolescence. Adolescents have increasing capacity to monitor and handle the cognitive resources in such a way that they can effectively fulfill the learning task. Most of the students in fact do not know how to study and to monitor themselves and they do not know their ability in a course since the most important thing to them is to obtain satisfactory mark. Metacognition is the process of thinking, reflecting, and controlling all of the cognitive processses that occur so that the students have in-depth meaningfulness toward what they learn. Metacognitive activities can stimulate intelligence in such a way that it has an important role in the success of a student in studying. Self efficacy is believed to be able to make an individual able to interpret and to translate both internal and external factors into real action. However, it is necessary to affirm that different individuals have different ability in reading their mind and viewing their environment. The researcher is interested in conducting research on the correlation of the metacognition and the self efficacy of the students, particularly in Obstetric Care II course in the basis of the background mentioned above.
