The Implementation Of Teaching Writing And Error Analysis Of English Writing Of Hearing-Impair Students (A Case Study At The Second Grade Of Slb B Sma Darma Asih Pontianak In The Academic Year Of 2012/2013)

The objectives of the research are; (1) the implementation of teaching writing; (2) error analysis of English writing of hearing-impair students; and (3) the improvement needed in teaching and learning writing to hearing-impair students. The research was conducted at SMALB B Darma Asih in Second Grade, Pontianak, West Kalimantan Province. It is qualitative research in form of case study. The data of this thesis were from several techniques in collecting data: observation, interview, document analysis, and audio and visual material or photograph. In analyzing data of this research, the writer conducted the qualitative data, the quantitative data, and comparing the result of qualitative data and quantitative data to derive theory from the data. The result of this research shows that: (1) the implementation of teaching and learning writing to hearing-impair students consist of five sections: the documents of teaching and learning available for writing lesson are curriculum, syllabus, lesson plan, and teaching material; the procedure used by the teacher in teaching and learning is lesson plan; the evaluation used in writing class teaching writing evaluation procedures refer to student process writing product; the class climate during teaching and learning writing is refer to teacher create attractive and energizing class refer to the students condition, suitable teaching material, and easy to communicate; and difficulties in teaching and learning writing are refer to school document informs about teacher resources, school facilities, and school conditions; (2) the errors analysis in writing that written by the hearing-impair students were the most of frequency of errors shown were the frequency of error in exercise 1 was misspelling word was six, misplaced word was two, and missing word was one, the frequency of error in exercise 2 was misspelling word was thirty-three, misplaced word twenty-six, and missing word was sixteen. Meanwhile, the frequency of error in exercise 3 was misplaced word was one and missing word was teen; and (3) the last is the result of the research was the improvement in teaching and learning writing for the hearing-impair students was feedback method with Maternal Reflective Method. This study indicates that the implementation of teaching and error analysis of English writing of hearing-impair students at second grade of SLB B SMA Darma Asih Pontianak in the academic year of 2012/2013 gives a good contribution to improvement of the students writing skill. Therefore, it is recommended that: (1) the teachers should implement the teaching and learning writing for hearing-impair students with the standard teaching and learning documents that are available; to use appropriate lesson plan procedures used by the teacher in teaching; to use appropriate evaluation which is being used in writing class; to use appropriate the class climate during teaching and learning writing; and to minimize the difficulties encountered in teaching and learning writing; (2) the teacher should attention with their error writing; and (3) the teachers need to improve their teaching and learning writing to hearing-impair students with feedback method.
