Teaching English Vocabulary Using Pictures For 3rd Grade Of Sdn Karangasem 3 Surakarta

This final project report is done based on the writer’s job training as an English teacher in third grade at SD N Karangasem III for a month. The objectives of the report are to describe the stages of teaching in which pictures were used in English teaching process and to describe the advantages of pictures in English teaching process to third grade students of SD N Karangasem III. After having done observation during the job training in that school, the writer could conclude that there were five steps of teaching English in the class. They are warming up, explaining the materials, practicing, exercising and closing. Besides, the writer also found that pictures were effective media to teach English. It was because pictures are easy to find, able to draw attention from the students and easy to remember. Moreover, the writer could deliver the materials easier by using picture as teaching media. Finally, the writer expects that this final project report can be beneficial for English teacher of elementary schools to develop their teaching method and for English Diploma Program Students to make this report as reference to make their final project reports.
