Media As A Means Of Communication Used By The Public Relations Division In Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Ortopedi Hospital

This final project report was written based on the job training in Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Ortopedi hospital from February 4th to March 7th2013. The objectives of this report are to explore the media used by Public Relations Division of Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Ortopedi Hospital, and to know the effectiveness of the media used. In Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Ortopedi hospital, the Public Relations Division of the hospital uses several kinds of communication media; mass media and non-mass media. Both of the media are used to communicate with the public. The hospital hopes that through these communications media, public will know about the hospital especially the services. The kinds of mass media used are television, radio, magazine, and internet. SMS, e-mail, questionnaire, and leaflet are chosen as the non-mass media. There were some benefits and weaknesses of each of the media. The most effective media among the others is SMS. There are some reasons that SMS becomes the most effective media used by Public Relations Division of Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Ortopedi Hospital for communication with public, such as privacy, no time limitation, simplicity, and also cheapness. From the discussion in this final project, the readers are expected to know the communications media used by Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Ortopedi hospital and the effectiveness of each media.
