Activities Of Guides In Kasunanan Surakarta Palace

This final project report is written based on the job training done in Kasunanan Surakarta Palace for one month. The objectives of this final project report are to describe the problems faced by the guides in Kasunanan Surakarta Palace and to propose the solutions for the problems. The data of this report were gained from interviews and observation during the job training and the apprentice’s guiding activities in Kasunanan Surakata Palace. Guiding activities in Kasunanan Surakarta Palace are as follows: checking the ticket from tourists, welcoming and guiding them, assisting them to the next tourist attraction in Kasunanan Surakarta Palace, etc. During the job training, the writer faced some problems about guiding. The problems are as follows: some guides lack of English fluency, the sign about the prohibition in some places are not clearly visible, some places look a little bit dirty, and they need more guides. The writer also gave the solutions to solve the problems. They have to improve their English fluency, set a more clearly visible sign, keep the places clean, give additional guide in some place.
