The Contribution Of Press Media For DPRD Surakarta To Communicate With The Society

This final project report was written based on the job training in DPRD Surakarta. The objectives of the report are to describe the kinds of press media used by Public Relations of DPRD Surakarta, to know the contribution of the press media to communicate with the society and to know the obstacles faced by Public Relations officer of DPRD Surakarta in establishing the relationship with the press media. This report discusses the media partner used by Public Relations division of DPRD Surakarta such as newspaper, television, and internet that were observed by the writer. The interview had been carried out to know the contribution of press media through the questionnaires that were collected from the informants and some obstacles of Public Relations that are found in doing their duty for DPRD Surakarta. The results of the report indicate that there are some problems found in DPRD Surakarta, such as the lack of human resources who have knowledge about journalistic and Public Relations, the lack of facilities for Public Relations division to publish the news, policy and information, the lack of news, policy and information published through the press media, and the lack of socialization and information that are informed to society.
