Teaching And Learning English To The Third Grade Students Using Picture And Audio In Sdn Tumenggungan No.28 Surakarta

This final project report is written based on job training activity. It had been carried out by the writer at SDN Tumenggungan no.28 Surakarta within 2 months. The writer took a class, the third grade, as the subject to be observed. The students liked English lesson. It prompted the writer to help them to enrich their English using appropriate media in teaching learning activities,especially pictures and audio. The objectives of this report are to describe the process of teaching and learning English using picture and audio in SDN Tumenggungan no.28 Surakarta and to find out the benefits of teaching and learning English using picture and audio in SDN Tumenggungan no.28 Surakarta. In this final project report, the writer only discusses the process of introducing the words related to the “Animals”. The conclusions of this report are as fellows: the step of the teaching-learning process in SDN Tumenggungan no.28 Surakarta consisted of greeting, warming up, presentation, production, closing, and assessment. The writer chose picture and audio for the teaching-learning process. Teaching used pictures and audio gave benefits for the students in SDN Tumenggungan no.28 Surakarta. The pictures made the students easier to obtain information about the material,especially colorful pictures. By using the colorful pictures , the students were able to mention the detail object such as mentioning the color, the shape and the situation of the pictures. Meanwhile, audio improved listening skill and decreased mispronunciation of the students.
