ABSTRAK
Rachmi Aridha Puspantini, 2014. Teaching Writing To The Fourth grade In Sd Al Islam 3 Gebang, Surakarta. English Diploma Program, Faculty of Letters and Fine Arts, Sebelas Maret University. This final project report was written based on the job training done by the writer as an English teacher in SD Al Islam 3 Gebang, Surakarta. The purposes were to describe the process of teaching writing and to find out the problems and solutions faced by the teacher and the students during the process of teaching writing. During the job training, the writer took some activities such as observation in the class and teaching the English lesson. In the class observation, the writer observed the condition of the class included the students’ condition. In the teaching writing process, the writer used some procedures in order to make the teaching writing process run well. The procedures of teaching writing process covered greeting, warming up, explanation the material, exercises, assessment, ending the lesson and test. There were some problems faced both by the students and the teacher. The problems of the students were writing English, having low motivation and the influence of mother tongue (Bahasa Indonesia). To solve these problems, the writer gave more attention to the students who did not check the answer in doing the exercise, gave encouragement by explaining the important of English for the future, and gave practice a lot as well. Meanwhile, the problems of the teacher were big class and handling the students. To overcome these problems, the writer explained the material by using loud voice and moving around, and gave the students interesting explanation.
