Teaching Vocabulary By Using Realia And Pictures To The Fifth Grade Students At Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah (Mim) Sonorejo, Sukoharjo

This Final Project Report Is Written Based On The Job Training That Had Been Done By The Writer In Mim Sonorejo, Sukoharjo For About Two Months. The Writer Focused On Teaching To The Fifth Grade Students And Interested In Teaching Vocabulary. The Objectives Of This Report Are To Describe The Process Of Teaching Vocabulary, To Find Out The Problems And To Provide Solutions To The Problems Encountered During The Process Of Teaching Vocabulary And To Describe The Advantages Of Using Realia And Pictures For Teaching Vocabulary. The Writer Did School Observation, Class Observation And Made Lesson Plan Before Teaching The Students. Then, There Were Five Steps In The Process Of Teaching Vocabulary. They Were: Greeting, Warming Up, Presentation, Skill Practices And Assessment And Closing. The Writer Found Several Problems During The Process Of Teaching Vocabulary, I.E.: Indisciplined Students, The Different Characteristics Between Male And Female Students, Mispronunciation Of The Words And Difficulty In Memorizing Them. To Solve Those Problems, There Were Several Strategies Used By The Writer. First, By Giving Punishment And Changing The Duration Of Time In Teaching Process. Second, By Using “Yess Class” Technique And Conducting Reward Competition. The Last, By Giving The Students Many Practices, Homeworks And Songs. In Addition, The Use Of Realia And Pictures In Teaching Vocabulary Gave Many Advantages. Firstly, It Improved The Students’ Enthusiasm And Motivation. Secondly, By Giving Games From The Use Of Pictures And Realia, It Made The Students Not Easily Get Bored And Improve Them In Memorizing The Words. Thirdly, It Made The Teaching And Learning Process More Effective. Besides, The Materials Could Be More Easily Delivered To The Students And They Could Understand It Well. Further, Most Of Them Could Focus More On The Lesson. The Students Joined In The Class Discussion And Always Paid Attention When The Materials Were Explained.
