Kaji Eksperimental Performansi Pengereman Kampas Rem Serbuk Bambu Sebagai Suplemen Materi Kajian Mata Kuliah Komposit Di Prodi Ptm Jptk Fkip Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Menyelidiki pengaruh variasi komposisi bahan serbuk bambu, serbuk aluminium (Al), magnesium oksida (MgO) dan resin polyester terhadap nilai koefisien gesek pada pengujian performansi pengereman. (2) Menyelidiki variasi komposisi kampas rem dengan bahan friksi serbuk bambu yang paling ideal terhadap koefisien gesek dengan pembanding kampas rem Indoparts. (3) Menyusun hasil penelitian untuk suplemen materi bahan ajar yang disusun sebagai penunjang mata kuliah komposit di PTM JPTK FKIP UNS.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Data diperoleh dengan melakukan uji performansi pengereman menggunakan mesin Prony Brake. Proses pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan membuat 3 komposisi kampas rem, setiap komposisi dibuat 3 buah sampel menjadi  (1A, 1B, 1C; 2A, 2B, 2C; 3A, 3B, 3C). Data diperoleh dari hasil uji performansi pengereman kemudian dimasukkan ke dalam tabel dan ditampilkan dalam bentuk grafik, kemudian dianalisis.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa:(1) Variasi komposisi kampas rem berpengaruh terhadap nilai koefisien gesek. Semakin bertambahnya persentase komposisi serbuk bambu maka semakin rendah nilai koefisien gesek sampel kampas rem, serta semakin bertambahnya persentase magnesium oksida (MgO) maka semakin meningkat pula koefisien gesek yang dihasilkan. (2) Koefisien gesek yang paling mendekati dengan nilai koefisien gesek kampas rem Indoparts adalah sampel kampas rem komposisi 1 dengan komposisi serbuk bambu 35%, aluminium 15%, MgO 35%, resin 15% dengan nilai koefisien gesek 0,365. (3) Dari hasil penelitian dapat disusun bahan ajar tentang komposit kampas rem sebagai suplemen bahan ajar mata kuliah komposit di Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin Jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Kejuruan Fakutas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta.

The purpose of this research were: (1) To research the effect of composition variations with materials bamboo powders, aluminium (Al), magnesium oxide (MgO), and polyester resin toward the friction coefficient value at the braking performance test. (2) To research the composition variation brake pad with material friction bamboo powders the most ideal friction coefficient value with Indoparts brake pad as comparison. (3) To develop the results of this research as teaching materials supplement of composite courses in Education Department of Mechanical Engineering Department of Technical and Vocational Education Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Universty Sebelas Maret Surakarta.
This research used a descriptive quantitative method. Data were obtained by using Prony Brake engine braking performance test. The sample processed  by making 3 composition of brake lining, each composition is made of 3 pieces of samples  into (1A, 1B, 1C; 2A, 2B, 2C; 3A, 3B, 3C). Data obtained from the results of research put into a table and displayed in graphical form, then analyzed.
Based on the results of this study concluded that: (1) Variations composition the brake lining effect on the value of friction coefficient in the braking performance test. The increasing percentage composition of bamboo powder, will lower the braking performance (friction coefficient) brake lining samples, as well as the increasing percentage of magnesium oxide (MgO) then also improve braking performance (friction coefficient). (2) The friction coefficient that closest to the value of the friction coefficient Indoparts brake lining is composition sample 1 with composition of 35% bamboo powder, aluminum 15%, MgO 35%, resin 15% by 0,365 friction coefficient value. (3) The research results can be structured into brake lining composite lesson as composite course teaching materials supplement in the Study Program Education Department of Mechanical Engineering Department of Technical and Vocational Education Faculty of Teacher Training and Education University Sebelas Maret Surakarta.
