Electronic Identity Card Socialization of Public Relations Division of Sukoharjo Local Government

This final project report is written based the job training done at Sukoharjo Local Government for two months in Public Relations Division. I did some jobs during on the job training in Public Relations Division of Sukoharjo Local Government such as: making daily press clipping, making press release, participating in socialization of government program year 2012, participating in Electronic Identity Card socialization, and etc.
The aims of this final project report are to describe the existing condition of Electronic Identity Card socialization of Public Relations of Sukoharjo local government and to propose improvement of communication channels in socializing Electronic Identity Card socialization in Sukoharjo. The data of this report were gained by doing interview and observation in Sukoharjo Local Government.
Public Relations Division of Sukoharjo Local Government used many of communication channels to inform E-KTP program optimally, for example: personal presentation, media relations, internet and advertising. Personal Presentation was held twice in district level and subdistrict level, Public Relations division of Sukoharjo local government also took the advantages of media relation by established cooperation with local TV station, local radio station, and local mass media. Public Relations division of Sukoharjo local government used the internet by provided and shared many websites which were provided much information about E-KTP program. Public Relations Division of Sukoharjo Local Government also made banners and billboards to socialize E-KTP program. These communication channels have been used effectively to socialize E-KTP program to the public.
From I’s observation on the existing communication channels, I concluded that personal presentation and advertising are less effective, so these communication channels have to be mproved in order to the E-KTP program can be socialized effectively. Thus, I proposes improvement to make the two communication channels more effective. The proposals are socialize E-KTP through the counseling team and create advertorial in several news paper, the aim of counseling team is to socialize E-KTP directly to the public. The socialization will be more effective because it can save cost and time. The aim of advertorial is to establish public knowledge and awareness about the important of E-KTP. Advertorial is more effective than banner or billboard that have been created by Sukoharjo Public Relations.
Hopefully, this final project report can be a reference for the Public Relations Division of Sukoharjo Local Government to make the existing communication channels more effective, in order to get maximum results
