Implementasi Blended Learning Tema Biomassa Sumber Energi Alternatif Terbarukan untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Kognitif dan Minat Belajar Siswa Kelas VIII-F SMPN 2 Sidoharjo

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana meningkatkan: (1) kemampuan kognitif siswa kelas VIII-F SMP Negeri 2 Sidoharjo melalui implementasi blended learning tema Biomassa Sumber Energi Alternatif terbarukan, (2) minat belajar siswa kelas VIII-F SMP Negeri 2 Sidoharjo melalui implementasi blended learning tema Biomassa Sumber Energi Alternatif Terbarukan.
Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan model Kurt Lewin dan model kolaboratif yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus diawali dengan tahap persiapan dan dilanjutkan dengan tahap pelaksanaan siklus yang terdiri atas perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII-F SMP Negeri 2 Sidoharjo Kabupaten Sragen Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014 sebanyak 32 siswa. Data diperoleh melalui kajian dokumen, penugasan, tes, observasi, angket serta wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan kuantitatif dan kualitatif.
Berdasarkan analisis data dan pembahasan dalam penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) Kemampuan kognitif siswa kelas VIII-F SMP Negeri 2 Sidoharjo Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014 dapat meningkat melalui implementasi blended learning tema Biomassa Sumber Energi Alternatif Terbarukan. Pada siklus I kemampuan kognitif siswa mengalami peningkatan, tetapi belum mencapai target keberhasilan. Hal ini dikarenakan lebih dari 50% siswa belum mempelajari materi dan mengunggah tugas di e-learning serta masih banyak siswa yang menjawab soal pilihan ganda secara acak terutama pada soal yang memerlukan hitungan. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan tindakan selanjutnya yaitu siklus II dengan pemfasilitasan komputer dan internet di Laboratorium Komputer serta bantuan fasilitas laptop dari peneliti kepada siswa untuk mengakses dan mengunggah tugas di e-learning di luar jam pembelajaran kemudian menggunakan soal essay pada tes kognitif siklus II. Pada siklus II kemampuan kognitif siswa telah mencapai target yang telah ditetapkan. (2) Minat belajar siswa kelas VIII-F SMP Negeri 2 Sidoharjo Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014 dapat meningkat melalui implementasi blended learning tema Biomassa Sumber Energi Alternatif Terbarukan. Kegiatan diskusi dan eksperimen pada siklus I baik di kelas maupun sebagai tugas di e-learning belum dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa hingga mencapai target yang telah ditetapkan. Hal ini dikarenakan lebih dari 50% siswa belum mengakses media e-learning dan hanya satu atau dua siswa dalam kelompoknya yang aktif mengerjakan LKS, sehingga dilakukan tindakan selanjutnya dengan kegiatan pembelajaran e-learning di Laboratorium Komputer, kegiatan demonstrasi di luar kelas, serta mengkoordinir siswa untuk pembagian tugas dalam berdiskusi mengerjakan LKS pada siklus II. Minat belajar siswa telah mencapai target keberhasilan pada siklus II.

ABSTRACT
This research aims to know how to improve: (1) student’s cognitive ability on VIII–F at SMPN 2 Sidoharjo through the implementation of blended learning on the theme of Biomass As An Modern Alternative Energy Source, (2) student’s interest learning on VIII-F at SMPN 2 Sidoharjo through the implementation of blended learning on the theme of Biomass As An Modern Alternative Energy Source .
This research was a classroom action research held in two cycles with Kurt Lewin and collaborative’s model. Each cycle was begin with preparation phase then continued to cycle implementation phase that consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subject was VIII-F students of SMPN 2 Sidoharjo Sragen at Academic Year 2013/2014 that consists of 32 students. The data was collected through document review, assignment, cognitive test, observation, quesioner and interview to the teacher and students. The techniques of data analysis used quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
Based on the study and data analysis of this research, it could be conclude that: (1) cognitive ability of VIII-F students at SMPN 2 Sidoharjo at Academic Year 2013/2014 could improve through implementation of blended learning on the theme of Biomass As An Modern Alternative Energy Source. Student’s cognitive ability in the first cycle are increased, but not yet reaches out the target. This is due to more than 50% students are not study the matter and change assignment in e-learning also still many students who answer multiple choice question in a random especially in question wich need a calculation. Because that, the reflection was done continuelly in cycle II by using computer and internet facility in the computer laboratory and laptop facility from researcher to the students for accessing and change assignment in e-learning. This reflection was done after the lesson class end, then it also support by using essay in the cognitive test in the end of cycle II. Student’s cognitive ability in the second cycle that could reach the target. (2) interest learning of VIII-F students at SMPN 2 Sidoharjo at Academic Year 2013/2014 could improve through implementation of blended learning on the theme of Biomass As An Modern Alternative Energy Source. Discussion and experiment activities in the first cycle in the class or as assignment for e-learning couldn’t to improve student’s interest learning until reach the target. This is due to more than 50% students are not accessing an e-learning media and only one or two students in their group active done their LKS, so that further action done by e-learning activities in the computer labolatory, demonstration activities outside the classroom, as well as coordinating the students to the division of tasks in the discussion done their LKS on the second cycle. Student’s interest learning in the second cycle that could reach the target.
