ABSTRAK
Tujuan penelitian adalah menerapkan pembelajaran koooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar sosiologi siswa XI IIS 4 SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2014/2015.
Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IIS 4 SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta yang terdiri dari 32 siswa. Sumber data utama berasal dari guru dan siswa. Teknik utama yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data penelitian ini adalah observasi dan tes, sedangkan teknik pendukung menggunakan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar sosiologi siswa kelas XI IIS 4 SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta. Berdasarkan hasil dari tahap pratindakan, siklus I, dan siklus II selalu mengalami peningkatan. Pada tahap pratindakan, rata-rata kelas pada kompetensi kognitif sebesar 2,82 naik menjadi 3,36 pada siklus I, kemudian naik lagi menjadi 3,38 pada siklus II. Sedangkan dilihat dari ketuntasan belajarnya, pada saat pra tindakan sebesar 23,33% naik menjadi 84,38% pada siklus I, kemudian naik lagi menjadi 90,62% pada siklus II. Pada kompetensi afektif, ketuntasan belajar pada siklus I sebesar 87,5% lalu naik menjadi 90,62% pada siklus II. Pada kompetensi psikomotorik, rata-rata kelas mencapai 3,17 pada siklus I kemudian naik menjadi 3,31pada siklus II dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar tetap yaitu sebesar 96,87%.
Simpulan penelitian ini adalah penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar sosiologi siswa XI IIS 4 SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2014/2015.

ABSTRACT
The objective of this research is to apply cooperative learning model type Think Pair Share (TPS) to improve students’ learning achievement of sociology subject in class XI IIS 4 SMAN 5 Surakarta in the academic year of 2014/2015.
This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was conducted in two cycles. Everycycle concisted of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of this research is all of the students in class XI IIS 4 SMAN 5 Surakarta which are 32 students.The main technique of collecting the data used is test and observation, while the supporting technique of colleting the data used is interview and documentation. The technique of analyzing the data used is descriptive qualitative.
The result of the research showed that the implementation of cooperative learning model type Think Pair Share (TPS) can improve students’ learning achievement in sociology subject in class XI IIS 4 SMAN 5 Surakarta. Referring to the pre action result, there is an improvement in the result of cycle I and cycle II. In the pre action, the mean score at the cognitive competence is 2.82 then increases to 3.36 at cycle I test, and then increases again to 3.38 at cycle II test. While was seen from the passing grade, at the pre action is 23.33%, then increases to 84.38% at cycle I, and then increases again to 90.62% at cycle II. At the affective competence, passing grade of cycle I is 87.5% and then increases to 90.62% in cycle II. At the psychometric competence, the mean score reached 3.17 at the cycle I then increases to 3.31 at the cycle II with the same passing grade is 96,87%.
The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of cooperative learning model type Think Pair Share (TPS) can improve students’ learning achievement in sociology subject in class XI IIS 4 SMAN 5 Surakarta in the academic year of 2014/2015.
