Pengembangan Modul Kimia Berbasis Scientific Approach pada Materi Ikatan Kimia Kelas X SMA / MA Semester 1

ABSTRAK
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui 1) hasil dari pengembangan modul kimia
berbasis scientific approach, 2) kelayakan modul kimia berbasis scientific approach
berdasarkan validasi ahli, penilaian praktisi pembelajaran dan respon siswa, 3)
efektivitas modul kimia berbasis scientific approach pada materi ikatan kimia untuk
meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa.
Penelitian menggunakan prosedur Borg & Gall yang telah direduksi menjadi 9
tahapan, yakni: 1) tahap pendahuluan, 2) tahap perencanaan, 3) tahap pengembangan
rancangan awal produk, 4) tahap uji coba awal, 5) tahap revisi produk tahap uji coba
awal, 6) tahap uji lapangan, 7) tahap revisi produk uji coba lapangan, 8) tahap uji
operasional, 9) tahap revisi produk akhir. Uji coba awal dilakukan di SMAN 2 Madiun
dan SMAN 5 Madiun. Uji lapangan utama dilakukan di SMAN 2 Madiun dan SMAN 3
Madiun. Uji coba operasional dilakukan di 4 sekolah yaitu (1) SMAN 2 Madiun, (2)
SMAN 3 Madiun, (3) SMAN 4 Madiun, dan (4) SMAN 5 Madiun. Teknik
pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui metode angket, observasi dan tes. Jenis data yang
diperoleh adalah data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari hasil
wawancara, dan saran saat uji coba. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari hasil penilaian
validasi modul oleh validator, dan dari hasil penilaian kelayakan modul oleh guru dan
siswa sebagai pengguna di lapangan pada uji coba awal, lapangan dan operasional serta
dari hasil tes belajar siswa pada uji coba lapangan. Efektivitas modul diperoleh dari
perbedaan rata – rata hasil belajar pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan pada uji coba
lapangan di kelas yang pembelajarannya menggunakan modul kimia berbasis scientific
approach dan yang tidak menggunakan modul kimia berbasis scientific approach.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) hasil setiap tahapan pengembangan
modul kimia berbasis scientific approach adalah modul kimia yang telah di validasi dan
telah direvisi berdasarkan saran dari para ahli modul dan telah diuji cobakan kepada
guru dan siswa sebagai pengguna di lapangan, (2) Kelayakan modul kimia berbasis
scientific approach berdasarkan para ahli dan praktisi pembelajaran diperoleh nilai
Aiken V ≥ 0,79 yang menunjukkan bahwa modul valid secara isi, kebahasaan, sajian,
dan kegrafisan dan rata-rata hasil angket respon guru dan siswa terhadap kelayakan
modul kimia pada semua uji diperoleh penilaian dengan kategori “Sangat Baik”. (3)
Modul kimia berbasis scientific approach efektif meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa
dari aspek pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan siswa.

ABSTRACT
The purposes of this research were to know 1) the results of the development of
scientific approach based chemistry module, 2) the feasibility of scientific approach
based chemistry module on expert validation, assesment practioner learning and
students respons, 3) the effectiveness of scientific approach based chemistry module of
chemical bonding to improve students achievement.
This research used the procedure of Borg & Gall that had been reduced into nine
stages: 1) the stage of research and information gathering, 2) planning, 3) first of
product design development, 4) the initial field test phase, 5) the revision stage of the
first stage product, 6) main field test phase, 7) product revision stage second phase, 8)
operational field test phase, 9) revision of the final product. Initial field tests was
conducted in SMAN 2 Madiun and SMAN 5 Madiun. The main field test was
conducted in SMAN 2 Madiun and SMAN 3 Madiun. Operational field tests was
conducted in four schools, namely : (1) SMAN 2 Madiun, (2) SMAN 3 Madiun, (3)
SMAN 4 Madiun, and (4) SMAN 5 Madiun. The technique of collecting data was
through questionnaires, observations and tests. The data were qualitative and
quantitative data. The qualitative data was obtained from interviews and advice at field
testing. Quantitative data was obtained from the assessment of module validation by
experts, assessment questionnaire at the beginning of the field test, the main field and
operational field testing and learning outcomes in primary field tests. The effectiveness
of the modules was obtained from the average difference in learning achievements of
knowledge, attitudes and skills in the class field test class that using scientific approach
based chemistry module in their learning and the other one that was not using scientific
approach based chemistry module.
The results of research were : (1) the result of each stage of R&D for the
development of scientific approach based chemistry module was a module that had been
validated and had been revised based on advice from the experts and the modules had
been tested to prospective users, (2) The feasibility of scientific approach based
chemistry module based on the experts were obtained Aiken V ≥ 0.79 which indicated
that the module was valid contents, language, grain, and the average of student and
teacher’s questionnaire responses at the final test were obtained the result of "Very
Good" category. (3) the chemical module based scientific approach was effective to
improve learning achievement of knowledge, attitudes and skills of students.
