ABSTRACT
The aim of this research is to increase the ability of logical thinking and decrease students’ misconception in the subject matter of ecology of class X 3 of SMAN Kebakkramatin the year 2014/ 2015 by applying Problem-Based Learning based e-Module.
This research is classroom action research consisting of two cycles. The subject of this research is students of class X 3 of SMAN Kebakkramat. The method of data collection used is observation, written test, interview, and documentation.This research is descriptive qualitative. The validity of data uses data triangulation technique.
The result shows that misconception score in every concept is different. The score of population concept in the first cycle is 59,88% while in the second cycle is 19,75%. The score of community concept in the first cycle is 54,94% while in the second cycle is 24,69%. The score of food chain and food websconcept in the first cycle is 34,57% while in the second cycle is 22,53%. The score of ecology application in SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) contextin the first cycle is 65,12% while in the second cycle is 42,90%. The result score of logical thinking varies as well. The score of generalization indicatorin the first cycle is 51,39% and in the second cycle is 59,26%. The score of analogy indicatorinthe first cycle is 56,48% and in the second cycle is 61,11%.The score of causal relationinthe first cycle is 50,46% and in the second cycle is 53,70%.The score ofcategorial silogismein the first cycle is 55,56% and in the second cycle is 62,04%. The score of hypotetic silogisme inthe first cycle is 55,56% and in the second cycle is 57,41%. The score of alternative silogismein the first cycle is 40,74% and in the second cycle is 62,96%. The score of entimem indicator inthe first cycle is 48,61% and in the second cycle is 65,28%.
The conclusion is that the application E-Module with Problem-Based Learning increases the ability of logical thinking and decreases students‘ misconception of class X 3 of SMAN Kebakkramat in the year 2014/2015.
