ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) Perbedaan penggunaan metode Talking Stick dan metode Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) terhadap hasil belajar sosiologi siswa; (2) Pengaruh penggunaan metode Talking Stick dan metodeStudent Teams Achievement Division (STAD) terhadap hasil belajar sosiologi siswa; (3) Besar pengaruh penggunaan metode Talking Stick dan metode STAD terhadap hasil belajar sosiologi siswa. adapun penelitian ini dilakukan pada kelas XI IPS di SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kausal komparatif dengan desain penelitian eksperimen semu. Populasi dari penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015 dengan jumlah 796. Sampel penelitian yaitu sebanyak dua kelas XI diambil dengan teknik multistage cluster random sampling. Pegumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes, angket, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Uji-t Dua variabel Independent.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan : (1) Terdapat perbedaan penggunaan
metode Talking Stick dan metode Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD)terhadap hasil belajar Sosiologi siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil analisis data yang menunjukkan rata-rata kelas metode Talking Stick sebesar 80,00 dan rata-rata kelas metode Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD)sebesar 76,19 dimana selisihnya sebesar 3,80 dengan signifikansi 0,004 (sangat signifikan). (2) Terdapat pengaruh penggunaan metode Talking Stick dan metode STADterhadap hasil belajar Sosiologi siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta. Hal ini dapat dilihat dengan harga t sebesar 3,119 dengan signifikansi sebesar 0,004 (sangat signifikan). (3) Besar pengaruh penggunaan metode Talking Stick dan metode Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) terhadap hasil belajar Sosiologi siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta yaitu sebesar 7%.
Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan penggunaan metode Talking Stick dan metode Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) terhadap hasil belajar Sosiologi siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta. Nilai rata-rata kelas metode Talking Sticklebih tinggi daripada kelas metode Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD). Metode pembelajaran memberikan pengaruh sebesar 7% sedangkan 93% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain.

ABSTRACT
This research is aimed to find out: (1) The difference between the use of Talking Stick and Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) method in Sociology learning outcomes; (2) The effect of the use of Talking Stick and Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) method in Sociology learning outcomes; (3) The amount of the effect of the use of Talking Stick and STAD toward the sociology learning outcomes of the eleventh grade social science students of SMA Negeri 8 Surakartat.
This research is a causal comparative study with quasi-experimental design. The population was all of the students of SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta in the academic year of 2014/2015 which was 796 students. The sample consisted of two classes from eleventh grade which was drawn through multistage cluster random sampling. The technique of collecting the data used was test, questionnaire, and documentation. The technique of analysing the data used was t-test of two independent variables.
The result of this research showed: (1) there is a difference between the use of Talking Stick and Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD)toward the sociology learning outcomes of the eleventh grade social science students of SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta. It can be seen from the result of the analysis which shows that the mean score of the class Talking Stick is 80,00 and the mean score of the class STAD is 76,19with the difference of 3,80 and the significance of 0.004 (very significant) ; (2) there is an effect of the use of Talking Stick and STAD toward the sociology learning outcomes of the eleventh grade social science students of SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta. It can be seen from the t obtained is 3,119 with the significance of 0.004 (very significance); (3) The number of the effect of the use of Talking Stick and STAD toward the sociology learning outcomes of the eleventh grade social science students of SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta is 7%.
In conclusion, there is a difference between the use of Talking Stick and Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) toward the sociology learning outcomes of the eleventh grade social science students of SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta. The mean score of the class Talking Stick is higher than the class Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD). The learning method affects 7% while the 93% is affected by another factor.
