Content Analysis of 2013 Curriculum Textbook

ABSTRAK
The objective of this research is to identify: (1) whether the content of the
“Bahasa Inggris” textbook published by Ministry of Cultural and Education iscompatible with the Vocational School’s curriculum; (2) whether the exercises
and tasks in the”Bahasa Inggris” textbook are appropriate with scientific approachbased on 2013 Curriculum.
 This research is a descriptive qualitative research. In this research, theresearcher uses document analysis as the data collection technique because of thesubject of this research is “Bahasa Inggris” textbook published by Ministry ofCultural and Eduction for eleventh grade vocational school as the main data whichpresented in five tables. The tables encompasses aspects of the 2013 Curriculum,
mainly in Basic Competencies and Scientific Approach that may appear in eachchapter.. The data were analyzed using content analysis involving unitizing,
sampling, coding, reducing data, inffering contextual phenomena, and narrating
the answer to research questions.
 The findings of the research are the compatibility if the materials providedin the textbook with the 2013 Curriculum and Scientific Approach. Thecompatibility of 2013 Curriculum developed in the “Bahasa Inggris” textbook is
69,23%, and 50% characteristics of scientific approach utilize in the textbook.Based on SuharsimiArikunto (1996: 244), the textbook is good viewed from its
compatibility with 2013 curriculum and fair viewed from its compatibility withscientific approach.
