The purpose of this article is to present the interaction between female audiences with the television program “Cook Show” and how the female audiences use the text of television for their own purposes. From the interview, it shows that the female audiences act actively in the process of interpreting the text. Although the programs initially are produced to respond the needs of the audiences with cooking hobby, the female audiences interpret the programs more from their entertaining aspects. The programs continuely give them awareness that they come from different social class from the presenter. To resist with the power of the upper social class of the presenter, they consider the presenters as the other through objecting the presenters, either male or female presenters. Although they watch the program with the purpose to get the education of cooking, they instinctively refuse the educational message of the progra, rather they enjoy them as purely entertainment.
