ABSTRAK

Telah dilakukan analisis struktur kristal dan sifat magnetik pasir besi Sungai Bengawan Solo Kecamatan Trucuk Kabupaten Bojonegoro. Pasir besi diekstraksi dengan memanfaatkan sifat magnet yang menarik material logam. Karakterisasi meliputi penentuan kandungan mineral, pengukuran ukuran kristalit dan sifat magnetik sampel pasir besi. Dari hasil karakterisasi X-Ray Fluorenscence (XRF) didapatkan mineral hematit (Fe2O3) dominan terkandung dalam sampel pasir besi dengan konsentrasi sekitar 68 % sampai 72 %. Ukuran kristalit mineral hematit didapatkan dari perhitungan data hasil karakterisasi X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) yaitu berkisar antara 52 nm sampai 84 nm. Hasil karakterisasi Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) menunjukkan medan koersif mengalami kenaikan dengan kenaikan suhu annealing. Sedangkan magnetisasi remanan dan magnetisasi saturasi menurun dengan kenaikan suhu annealing.

ABSTRACT

Analysis of crystal structure and magnetic properties of iron sand of Sungai Bengawan Solo in Trucuk district of Bojonegoro regency has been done. Iron sand is extracted by utilizing magnetic properties that attract metal material. Characterization includes determination of mineral composition, measurement of crystallite size and magnetic properties of iron sand samples. From the characterization of X-Ray Fluorenscence (XRF), the dominant hematite (Fe2O3) minerals were found in iron sand samples with concentrations of about 68% to 72%. The size of crystallite mineral hematite obtained from the calculation data result characterization X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) is ranged between 52 nm to 84 nm. The result of characterization of Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) shows coercive field increase with increasing annealing temperature. While remanent magnetization and saturation magnetization decreased with increasing annealing temperature.
