Citizenship Education in Indonesia still has a gap between ideals and facts. Citizenship Education faces severe obstacles caused by internal and external factors. To overcome these obstacles we need to improve the competence of teachers, especially professional and pedagogical competence. We also need to control the flow of globalization and information to reduce the harm to young people.
