Petani dan politik di Jawa Timur : gerakan politik petani di desa Sambirejo Kecamatan Mantingan Kabupaten Ngawi, 1963-1965

ABSTRACT 2006.This research is aimed to describe the peasant movement backgrounds in Sambirejo Village in doing self action toward land whose belong to Pondok Modern Gontor. Local farmers consider that the ground for religious purposes is a free land which must be redistributed according to UUPA 1960. This research is a historical research employs historical research methods which describes past events by collecting historical sources, critique, and interpreting sources for further historiography. Data analysis used in this research is descriptive-qualitative analysis which analyse cause and effect relation of historical phenomena in certain situation. This analysis obtained from document, library research, and interview. The result shows that peasant movement in Sambirejo Village is considered to be a successful result of agitation done by the members of PKI/BTI. The peasants are easily influenced by the promise that they will obtain land work. Peasants follower did self action toward the land given by Haji Anwar Shodiq to Yayasan Pemeliharaan dan Perluasan Wakaf Pondok Modern Gontor (YPPWPMG) by planting and harvesting rice on the land. YPPWPMG side reports violation to Mantingan Catur Tunggal as land reform commite in subdistrict level because that land had already legalized by Ministry of Agrarian rules. Having a long debate, peasants side still don’t want to obey the rule from Catur Tunggal. YPPWPMG which is feel to loose, finally took hard action on 1 May 1965. They gathered hundred of Islamic youth of many Islamic organization around Ngawi. In the morning on 1 May 1965 having through hard debate with no solution, finally they attack peasant follower of PKI/BTI with cudgel. As a result some of the peasant were badly injured and their houses were burned by Islamic youth. Appearantly, PKI/BTI forget to think important matters in the life of peasant village in java. The strong factor of patron client in all kind aspec of life of Javanese peasant became the major reason of the failure of PKI/BTI agrarian revolution.
