This study aims to investigate the translation of onomatopoeias in Donald Duck – Superduck comic and to analyze the applicable techniques for its translation. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, related works of other researchers and a case study including a comic entitled Donald Duck – Superduck by Al Fagaly and its English translation by Hendrik were used. On the basis of the previous works and the case study, three techniques for dealing with onomatopoeia are presented: (a) translating onomatopoeia with context, (b) translating onomatopoeia with no direct equivalence in the target language, and (c) mots expressifs. The findings indicate that the types of onomatopoeia and the technique used were involved in the process and affecting the translation result. The results of this study are as the followings. There are 106 data of onomatopoeic expression found in the Donald Duck – Superduck Comic. Which consist of: 68 data of primary onomatopoeia and 37 data of secondary onomatopoeia. In primary types the data tend to be accurate with most of the data using TWC technique. In acceptability category most of the data tend to be acceptable. In the secondary types, the data tend to be less accurate with most of the data using TWC technique. The reason is because they lose the secondary onomatopoeia element in the process of translating. In acceptability group the data show that 24 data are concluded acceptable, 9 data are concluded less acceptable and 4 are concluded unacceptable. The data which are concluded unacceptable data occur because the onomatopoeic expression does not represent anything in target language and tends to be abstract and unknown
