Barbie In Princess Power is an interesting movie since it responds to the cultural context of women in 21st  century. The title of the movie attracts a specific attention into  the  discussion  between  the  conflicting  image  of  masculine  heroism  and traditional femininity. Thus, this research explores whether Barbie In Princess Power embodies the aspect of heroism or perpetuates the traditional feminine figure. This research is descriptive qualitative research that takes Barbie In Princess Power as a
source of data. The primary data consists of movie scenes, movie dialogue, and movie narrative. Gender theories, archetypal hero journey, narrative analysis, semiotics theory, animation theory, and socio cultural approach are employed in answering the research questions. This research suggests that women are constructed to glorify the femininity and to remain on the domestic sphere. Though the Barbie In Princess Power applies some aspects of heroism which entails an active role in the public sphere, the journey is diminished through the normalization of female figure in order to drag women into its natural sphere, to become a heroine
