Di IThis report is written based on the job training at Sangiran Museum, Kalijambe, Sragen, from July 18 until August 18, 2016. The objectives of this report are to elaborate the process of translating from the captions of display collection of prehistoric fossils and the article in the web site, and to discuss about the problem faced during the translation process and to find the solution.
There are several steps applied in translating for display collection, such as: documentation (took photographs of the collections captions), finding parallel texts, translating text into target language, and revising text. There were also some problems faced during translation process, namely: lacking of vocabularies related to certain field that can be solved by checking new vocabularies in the dictionary, selecting equal words that can be solved by checking the word and sentences in the parallel texts, and comprehending text that can be solved by rereading the text
