ABSTRACT This research focuses on examine how the Hagrid’s dialogues in the novel “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” are translated into Indonesian in “Harry Potter dan Tawanan Azkaban” in terms of accuracy, acceptability, and readability. It is a descriptive qualitative method using the technique of collecting, classifying the data, followed by drawing conclusion based on the data analysis. The source of data is taken from the novel “Harry Potter and he Prisoner of Azkaban” and its translation “Harry Potter dan Tawanan Azkaban”. The researcher found 92 data of Hagrid’s dialogues in the novel. In this research, purposive sampling was employed. The researcher is collecting and coding the data, determining the accuracy, acceptability, and readability of the Hagrid’s dialogues. The researcher was also assisted by raters who completed the questionnaires of the three problems and it is followed by analyzing the data and drawing conclusion. Derived from data analysis, on the accuracy level Rater 1 found 40 (44%) data to be accurate, Rater 2 decided 32 (35%) of the data are accurate, and Rater 3 found 21 (23%) data to be accurate. On the acceptability level, Rater 1 decided 30 (33%) of the data are acceptable, Rater 2 found 54 (59%) data to be acceptable, and Rater 3 found 45 (49%) of the data are acceptable. Meanwhile in readability level, Rater 1 decided 31 (34%) of the data as the readable translation, Rater 2 decided 26 (29%) of the data to be readable scale, Rater 3 found 31 (34%) of data are readable scale, and Rater 4 found 44 (48%) data to readable. Overall, the accuracy level in the average percentage for accurate scale is more than 70% very accurate. In the acceptability level, more than 50?ta are acceptable for the raters. In the readability level, there are more than 65% of the data comprehensible by the target readers. The result of this research can be used as an additional subject in improving the translator’s ability in translation. It also can be used as a supporting material in developing the ability of English Department students in analyzing quality of translation. Other researcher also can apply as a guide to carry out other studies about Quality Assessment.
