Racial Injustice Actstowards African Slaves Done By The White People Inthe Antebellum Era As Represented In The Birth Of A Nation (2016)

This research aims to explain how The Birth of A Nation(2016) represents the
racial injustice acts done by white people during the antebellum era. The source of
the data is The Birth of A Nation (2016) film which is directed by Nate Parker.
The primary data are the scenes, dialogues, and cinematographic elements.  The
secondary data are anything related to the issue such as books, journals, and
websites.This research is descriptive qualitative research under the American
studies framework. Historical approach and socio-cultural approach are used to
design this research. The Souryal and Liliweri?s racial injustice theory is used to
give the deeper understanding of racial injustice?s conception. Then the historical
pproach is used to examine the historical phenomenon and to dissect the racial
injustice?s acts toward African slave during the antebellum era.In the research
nalysis, it is found that the African slave faced any form of racial injustice during
the antebellum era as represented in The Birth of A Nation (2016) movie. The
representation of racial injustice acts occur through these aspects : (1) Violence,
(2) Segregation, (3) Stereotype, (4) Prejudice, and (5) Discrimination.
