Factors Which Influence Employee Performance At The Sierra Leone Airport Authority

The study investigated the organizational factors that influence the performance of employees at the Sierra Leone airport authority. The objectives of the study were: to examine how leadership style influences employee performance at the Sierra Leone airport authority; to establish the relationship between training and employee performance at the Sierra Leone airport authority; and to find out how career development influences performance of employees at the Sierra Leone airport authority. And find out how self-efficacy influences employee performance at the Sierra Leone airport authority.

A sample size of 186 was drawn from the targeted population using quantitative method. Also, a self- administered structured questionnaire was used to collect the data. Statistical methods such as descriptive statistics, regression and correlation were used to analyze the data. Moreover, SPSS version20 was used to determine the factors that influence employee performance.

The findings regarding the impact of employee performance showed that employees generally agreed if they are given good training, good leadership and career development their performance at the organization is positively impacted. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that all independent variables have a significant effect on the dependent variable.

 More specifically, the leadership variable has a positive effect on employee performance regression coefficient of 0.174 and t-test value of 2.783. Likewise, the Training variable has an effect on the employer's performance regression coefficiency of 0.212 and the t-test value of 2.452. While the Self-Efficacy variable has an effect on employeee performance regression coefficiency of 0.043 and the t-test value of 2.263 and Career Development Variables has an effect on employee performance.  All four variables contributed 65.7% to employee performance.
