ABSTRAK The purpose of this final project is to describe the roles of Public Relations Division in Radio PTPN Rasitania. The roles of Public relations division in Radio PTPN Rasitania are divided into two categories. They are: (1) the roles of Public Relations division based on its own planned programs, and (2) the roles of Public Relations Division affected by the marketing department. The public relations division’s role related to the role of marketing department were the profit-purposed lobbying, negotiating, and cooperation with other parties, such as other companies, advertising agencies, government, etc. PRO (Public Relations Officer) offered the products of company (Radio PTPN) and its services to the other company in order to get profit. From the discussion, the writer concludes that PRO has conducted its roles, either its own planned programs or the other programs supporting the marketing department. However, the company’s decision which placed one person to hold double jobs for the PRO and Manager Marketing was not really effective because both of them had different focus. Public Relations tends to create and maintain the relationship and cooperation with public without ignoring the goals of company, while marketing is only focused on the selling of products of the company to get profit. Thus, the writer gives suggestion to the company to recruit more officers to hold each position in organization to get the optimal result.
